Well last night was a good night, my team won our 1st game of the year and ended our 95 game losing streak (going back to Oct. '05).

It was my 3rd game using a "modern" set of pads (set of Battram Fury's) I'm borrowing from a friend to get me ready for my new set of Viper Venoms coming soon! It has not been as much of a change of style as I thought it would be moving form my Kay's that are almost 15 years old and my Billy Ranford kick save/flopper style to a more modern butterfly type of play. I also had a one on one private goalie lesson on Thursday night to get some pointers on "butterflying". We worked on the basics of keeping my stick strong, staying square to the shooter, and staying up in my butterfly (not letting my butt touch the ice when I go down).

I guess it worked because we won the 1st game of our best of 3 playoff series last night 4-1 (my 2nd lowest goals allowed in a game this year was 6).

The winning streak did not last near as long as the losing streak.......only 1 game. Lost 8-0 this weekend, maybe next weekend we can get back on track and win to come out on top of the best of 3 series

Well we had game 3 of our best of 3 playoff series this weekend. We were down 3-1 with 2 minutes left and the other team got a penalty. So I was pulled and we had a 6-4, and we scored to make it 3-2 with just under 90 seconds to go. I go back in net for the face off then straight to the bench after we get possession. we battle in their end, but the puck comes out down to our end, they take a shot and miss the empty net. they get the rebound and take another shot right on net but my D-man does an amazing diving baseball swing and hits the puck in mid air to keep it out of the net. 30 seconds left and we get the puck back in their end.......with 5 seconds left with hit the post and the puck slides across the goal mouth and out the other side, they clear the puck and the buzzer goes. So my season is over for another year (well we have a fun game next week for 9th place) but it was a great way for the team to finish up.......next year I see a few more wins in our cards!
