Thought I would share a few quick pictures of my second set of pads that I am finishing up for Jeff. I made some changes from my pads, I added a "stop" for the thighrise internally so it won't bend back further then it needs to but still retains it's flexibility. I also made everything in the leg channel removable so that you can have a bare leg channel or as busy of channel as you wish. I am still finishing up the calf protection, but here are some shots of the knee area and overall look of the pads. I added a knee block with removable lifts inside held in by velcro, something I have been selling for quite a while now and I decided that since they were so popular that I would add them as standard to the pads.

The blocker is almost done too, I will add pictures of that soon. It's got the removable palm in it, and I am working on a glove for him with the same.

Looks impressive!
Are you punching all those holes by hand?

Chrisco, unfortunately yes I am. I have a punch and a cutting pad and I just punch away... takes a while but it's so much easier then those hand held thingies that only made a half a crescent shape.

If I had a little more time I would send a local company some plans for dies but I haven't had time to draw them up yet. Once my design is finalized that will become a must for speed!

It's a little stiffer then the first set, I found that I could bend the first set both backwards and forwards and didn't like that at all. It would also let pucks through, so I stiffened it up just enough to flex good but not fold back.

From the picture it looks like it doesn't have much flex but since it flexes in both places it adds a lot. It's easy to get it to move but stops where it needs to to not let things through there. I should take a picture of what the first set of pads can do, it's crazy!

Becca,

seriously, those pads look sick. Not "sick for a person who's doing it all by hand." I mean sick, period. Your product looks flat out amazing.

I've applied the clear, I was waiting to sand it, which I should do tomorrow... it's hard doing so many things at once! I may drop the mask painting off the website and just do equipment since it's taken off so well. I just don't have time for both. I still want to paint, but just through word of mouth or special situations, like the raffle was. You've been very patient with me Soulpatch! It didn't help that the first month and a half I was laid up in bed with that knee though!

Very solid work! Very clean, beautiful lines on those pads. Love that knee stack too. What's even more impressive is that you are doing it by hand...imagine the ease to have everything die-cut...

The majority of the smaller makers all pretty much hand cut everything..

I think I own maybe 50 dies, and the majority of those are for cutting plastic and strap leathers (these dies cost a lot of money a small one will be worth 50 bucks right up to a strap die that can cost close to 1000 bucks and you dont even want to know what a catch glove palm die could cost!, so many people cant justify the cost), all of the fabrics are hand cut! Many of the small guys do not even own presses to die cut with! Now I do own a nice little foot operated hole punch that makes it much easier than pounding the handheld punch with a mallet! Of course I did that for about 14 years as well as handsetting eyelets for about 12 by hand until I bought a really nice automated eyelet machine that sets the eyelet and makes the hole all in one motion!

Becca is doing really nice work on those pads...
